Product Catalog - Drape ReinforcementsReinforcement materials - All fenestrated drapes are reinforced around the fenestration with material and sizes as noted in the drape descriptions. These materials are as follows:
Absorbent reinforcementsThis material will absorb fluids yet has a very high wet strength. The side of this material facing the drape has a poly film coating so that collected fluids will not strike through the drape itself.
PolyfoamThis is a closed cell polyurethane foam having good strength along with a non-skid surface for instruments that may be placed upon it. Closed cell foam will not absorb moisture.
Impervious reinforcementsThis material is a reinforcing material having a poly film at the exposed surface. Used in our larger laparotomy sheets, it minimizes sticking of the bowel when used for equine colic surgery.
